A growth pitch for the Sun Day Red executive team — prepared by Slice of the Pie Marketing

The next major is digital.

Sun Day Red has done the hard part: a brand people already believe in, the #1-selling shoe at PGA Tour Superstore, and a $400M ambition. What it doesn't have yet is a digital operation that converts that equity into new customers — organic reach is sliding, the money pages are out of stock, and category demand is being bought by smaller brands. This microsite is our pitch: every audit, every plan, and a rebuilt store concept — finished work, not promises.

The narrative

The Sunday Standard

Why we wanted this room. Sun Day Red is built on a philosophy we recognize — because it's how we work, too.

I.

Mastery

Fifteen major championships. Eighty-two PGA Tour wins — tied with Sam Snead for the most in history. ESPN 2019 Nobody arrives there on talent alone; that record is the compound interest of obsessive practice, repeated for decades. The brand carries it literally — the logo's 15 stripes are the 15 majors. Forbes 2026 In Sun Day Red's own words: "Every seam, every stitch, every fold of SUN DAY RED, is sewn with the meticulousness, care, and unwavering focus that has defined Tiger Woods' legendary career."

II.

The Comeback

The 2019 Masters: a 15th major, eleven years after the 14th, on the far side of spinal-fusion surgery — one of the great comebacks in the history of sport. ESPN / PGA Tour 2019 Its lesson is the one every executive team eventually needs: past greatness guarantees nothing. You prove it again, in public, when nobody's sure you still can. That is exactly the position Sun Day Red's digital business is in right now — and exactly the kind of work we like.

III. The Ritual

"A strong believer in lucky colors, Tiger's mother Kultida saw red as a symbol of strength and dominance, and once Tiger started winning in red, those beliefs solidified."

— Sun Day Red's own brand story, sundayred.com. Red on Sunday isn't a uniform; it's what you put on when the work is done and it's time to close. In the brand's words: "Today, the Sunday red is more than superstition. It's a symbol of Tiger's relentless pursuit of excellence, and a testament to his mental fortitude under the greatest of pressures."

Our side of the mirror

Slice of the Pie runs on the same three beliefs. Mastery: we grind the details — 2,000+ brands scaled, $50M+ in ad spend managed, twelve years of reps. Proof over promises: we don't pitch decks of what we might do; we show finished work — this microsite is the pitch. Every page here was researched, audited, designed and built before we ever asked for a meeting, including a working concept rebuild of the Sun Day Red store. The ritual: we back the work with a 90-day ROAS guarantee — and we show up on Sunday.

−78%

Organic keyword footprint, Feb → Jul 2026

34,276 ranking keywords collapsed to 7,374 in five months while competitors grew. The site now survives on branded head terms.

38 of the top 40 keywords are "Sunday Red" / "Tiger Woods" variants. SEO is capturing people who already know the brand — near-zero net-new acquisition.

The creator-commerce proof case

Good Good Golf: ~$40M revenue in 2025, ~75% from merch, built on YouTube. The audience Sun Day Red needs is already assembled — and buying shirts.

Forbes 2026
Read this honestly: Sun Day Red is not asleep. It runs Google Ads (~$5.2K/mo, branded defense + light conquesting) and one of the largest Meta creative libraries in the category; branded rankings hold position 1; the PLP title tags are keyword-targeted; Klarna is live at checkout; returns ship free on a prepaid label. The gap isn't effort — it's mix, merchandising, and the entire non-branded layer. Semrush · Meta Ad Library · Site audit

Executive summary

The 3-minute read

i. Where Sun Day Red is

The brand is strong and the digital foundation is soft. Strong: ~750 green-grass doors with plans to double, Osprey the #1 shoe by sell-through at PGA Tour Superstore, international expansion set for 2027, and a stated ambition to be "a $400 million brand over time." Forbes 2026 Soft: organic traffic has fallen ~31% from its March 2025 peak (~147K → ~102K/mo) and the ranking footprint contracted ~78% in five months; ~97% of what remains is branded. Semrush, Jul 2026 On the store itself: 6 of the first 8 polos on the money page were out of stock, product pages carry zero reviews, Klarna exists at checkout but is invisible on the PDP, and email capture offers no reason to sign up. Site audit, Aug 2026 Meanwhile the paid mix leads with markdowns — the only brand of seven scanned doing so Meta Ad Library 2026 — and Google Ads spend has fallen roughly 90% from early-2025 levels while Rhoback buys position 1 on "golf shirts." Semrush, Jul 2026

ii. The opportunity

Golf is in a once-a-generation boom: 48.1M US participants, an 8th straight year of on-course growth, and — critically — 18–34 is now the single largest on-course cohort. NGF 2025 Golf apparel is a $4.42B global market growing ~6.9% a year, with e-commerce its fastest channel at 13.22% CAGR. GVR 2024 · Mordor 2025 The creator economy has already proven merch converts at scale (Good Good: ~$40M, ~75% merch Forbes 2026), AI answers are becoming the new shelf — and Sun Day Red is missing from the pages those engines cite (1 of 5 audited "best golf polo" listicles; no Wikipedia entity). AIEO audit 2026 And the positioning map has an empty quadrant — performance + luxury restraint — that only a champion's brand can claim. Nobody else can enter it. Competitor teardown 2026

iii. The plan

  1. Fix the store. Stock-aware merchandising (in-stock first), reviews on every PDP, Klarna surfaced as "4 × $28.75," free-ship progress, and an email capture worth signing up for. We rebuilt it to show you — see the Store Concept.
  2. Build the retention engine. Klaviyo-class flows — welcome, back-in-stock (a natural strength given current inventory), post-purchase, winback — turning the waitlist demand the site already generates into revenue.
  3. Rebalance paid. Discount detox on Meta in favor of story-led, full-price creative; on Google, keep the cheap branded defense and open the non-branded layer competitors are buying at $1.30–$1.50 CPCs.
  4. Own the AI answers. Listicle seeding, entity building (Wikipedia), comparison and buying-guide content — so when 59% of shoppers ask an AI "best golf polo," Sun Day Red is in the citation base.
  5. Open the youth front. A creator/UGC channel program aimed at the 6.3M-strong 18–34 cohort — the West Coast channel, run through our 20+ golf-creator network.

iv. What it takes

We anchor every media plan at $10K/month per channel as a pilot plus one-time build fees — prove ROAS in 90 days, then scale what works. No long lock-ins; the numbers earn the renewal.

$25K/mo Scale — winners compound
$50K+/mo Own the category

v. Why Slice

We build first and pitch second — you're reading the proof. 2,000+ brands scaled, $50M+ in ad spend managed, 12 years in market, and a 90-day ROAS guarantee: a 25% blended-ROAS lift, or we work for free — the next month's on us. Sunday is for closing; we came ready to work.
