Module 07 — Meta Ads under STAOS
Sun Day Red runs serious Meta volume — ~1,097 ads in the library, more than any competitor. Volume isn't the problem. The mix is: its recent active creative leads with sale events while five of six premium rivals run zero discount language. This module rebalances the machine, not rebuilds it.
What they're running — the evidence
Verbatim ad titles from the Ad Library pull. The story work is genuinely good — it's just outnumbered by markdown creative in the active set. Meta Ad Library, Aug 2026
A $115–$145 polo brand teaching its audience to wait for 50% off. Every impression of "Gear Up for Less" spends Tiger equity it can't buy back.
This is the account's best work — craft, record, heritage. Under STAOS, these headline the account and sale creative is confined to defined clearance windows.
| Brand | Total ads (US) | Active | Offer strategy | Dominant angle |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sun Day Red | ~1,097 | — | Heavy discount-led right now | Sale events + Tiger heritage story |
| Malbon Golf | ~991 | ~222 | Full-price brand | Named campaign worlds ("Romance The Round") + DPA carousels + collab heat (New Balance 550) |
| Rhoback | ~516 | ~460 | Full-price — zero discounts | Product-personality machine ("The Booze Cruise Polo"), collegiate licensing |
| TravisMathew | ~256 | ~235 | Full-price | Benefit taglines + creator-whitelisted personal-page ads + separate women's page |
| Bad Birdie | ~82 | ~66 | 15% first-order hook only | Attitude copy + social proof ("Worn, loved, reordered.") |
| G/FORE | ~71 | ~70 | Full-price luxury | Deep category catalog carousels |
| Eastside Golf | ~38 | ~34 | Full-price, mission-led | Culture & inclusion brand story |

Four campaign families with clean jobs: cold reach, warm capture, catalog automation, and creator distribution — the lane TravisMathew is alone in at the premium tier.
Naming convention (sortable, human-readable): SDR_US_Prosp_Broad_Story-EarnTheRed_Video_2026Q4 — brand_geo_funnel_audience_angle-concept_format_flight. Every asset traceable to its test in one glance.
utm_source=meta&utm_medium=paidsocial&utm_campaign=sdr_prosp_story_earnthered.| Signal | Metric | Question it answers |
|---|---|---|
| Hook | 3-second view rate / thumbstop | Does the opening earn attention? |
| Hold | 25/50/75% video completion | Does the story keep it? |
| Pull | Outbound CTR, unique | Does it create intent? |
| Close | CPA / ROAS per concept (not per ad) | Does intent convert? |
| Fatigue | Frequency + CPM trend per concept | When do we rotate? |
Analysis rolls up to the concept level (angle × format), never individual placement variants — that's how ~1,097 library entries become a handful of readable bets.
A standing 3 angles × 3 formats matrix: nine cells, always populated, refreshed on a two-week cycle. Winners graduate to scale campaigns; losers are killed without ceremony.
Creative direction
Built from Sun Day Red's own photography, catalog prices and verbatim copy. Dark world, red accent, no invented quotes. All four are concepts — none are live ads.
Tiger Woods in red on Sundays: an image etched in golfing history. It's More Than a Shirt. It's a Mindset.
Why: story-led, full price, zero discount language. The direct counter to "Gear Up for Less" — the angle rivals can't copy because they don't have Tiger. LP: store/product.html.
Wore the Icon Polo for 36 holes in the heat. Sewn-in collar stays, hem never came untucked. This is the one. (Creator's own words — script direction, not a fabricated review.)
Why: whitelisted creator distribution — only TravisMathew does this at the premium tier. Fed by the Next Gen creator pipeline + Slice's 20+ golf UGC network. Placeholder handle; real creators cast in week 1–4.
Back in stock. The Icon is the ideal representative of our Heritage polo collection — built to fulfill Tiger's requests for how a golf shirt fits, performs and looks.
Why: Icon Polo colors are frequently sold out on the live site — real scarcity nobody is monetizing. Restock events trigger a DPA set + the back-in-stock email flow. Scarcity honestly earned beats discounts invented.
Every drop lands on a Sunday morning. The ad is the ritual itself — no price, no offer, one product, one date.
Macro: glove, dawn light. On-screen: "A strong believer in lucky colors…" — the Kultida origin, their verbatim copy.
15-Stripe logo texture, slow push. VO/text: "…red as a symbol of strength and dominance." Cut on beat to garment steam.
Collar snap, buttons close. Title card: "Sunday. 8am." End card: SUN DAY RED wordmark → drop LP. CTA: Get Notified.
Why: converts the sale-event cadence into a drop cadence — same urgency, opposite brand math. Cutdowns feed Reels + the Tier-3 retargeting pool; drop reminders route through email/SMS.
Same discipline as Google: a $10K/mo pilot earns the scale decision. Meta's job in the pilot is finding the repeatable full-price concept — not chasing a blended number that retargeting can fake.

Tier 2 — Growth

Tier 3 — Full system

| Layer | Audience | Job |

| Cold | Broad (Advantage+) | Let winning creative find the buyer |
| Cold | Interest stacks: golf, pro-golf followership, performance-fitness crossover | Structured tests vs broad |
| Cold | LAL 1–3% purchasers (CAPI + Klaviyo-fed) · LAL of engaged-video viewers | Seeded scale |
| Warm | Video viewers (95%) 30d · IG/FB engagers 90d | Story-to-consideration bridge |

| Excl. | Purchasers 30–60d, current customers on full-price prospecting | Spend hygiene |
The Next Gen module builds the creator bench — junior-golf and YouTube-golf voices growing with the TGL generation. Meta is where that bench monetizes:
The 90-day pilot, week by week
| Weeks | Workstream | Milestones | Decision gate |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | Foundations | Account + pixel/CAPI audit on access · event_id dedup + EMQ fixes · naming convention + UTM taxonomy applied · Klaviyo audience sync | Gate 1: signal quality verified — no launch on broken data |
| 3–4 | Launch | Prospecting + retargeting tiers + DPA live at $10K/mo pace · 9-cell matrix populated (Concepts A–D in market) · sale creative confined to clearance windows | Budget pacing check; discount-impression % baseline set |
| 5–6 | First read | Concept-level hook/hold/CTR/CPA readouts · retargeting frequency + decay review · first kill/replace cycle | Gate 2: kill bottom cells, refill matrix; creator casting locked |
| 7–8 | Iterate | Winning angles get new format variants · back-in-stock DPA firing on real restocks · first "Ritual" drop flight | MER vs guardrail floor; scale winning concept +20% steps |
| 9–10 | Creator layer | First whitelisted creator ads live (pilot-scale test) · creator CPA vs brand-page CPA benchmark | Gate 3: creator lane earns Tier-2 budget or waits |
| 11–12 | Prove & propose | Geo-holdout / incrementality readout · full pilot report: MER, new-customer revenue, winning concepts, discount-mix shift | Gate 4: scale to $25K, hold, or restructure — decided on data, in the room |
Milestone timings are planning targets, not guarantees. Illustrative
Full-price conviction, tested like a science project, distributed through people the next generation already trusts. That's the feed strategy Sunday deserves.
